TRAVEL: San Francisco’s Chinatown, An Afternoon Adventure

ChinatownSF

One of the oldest China Town neighborhoods in the states (in existence since 1848), it’s a recipe for a fun adventure.  We’ve put together some of our favorite spots, whether you are visiting with friends, or want to explore in your backyard for an afternoon.

Great Eastern Restaurant

649 Jackson St

Some of the best Dim Sum in the city.  There’s typically a wait, but well worth it.  Even President Obama stopped by while on a trip in SF.

Canton Bazaar

616 Grant Ave

This is the perfect spot for gifts, large and small.  From a tea set, an authentic hand-painted kimono, or Chinese calligraphy,  you can find just about anything here for any occasion.

 Vital Leaf Tea

1044 Grant Ave

Uncle Gee will welcome you in try to a sample of their array of green, black and oolong teas.  They also give a nice background on the art of tea drinking.
